The Banshee Labyrinth

New date added,

The Banshee Labyrinth on Saturday 4th september 2010.
With Billy Liar and The Stay Gones.

Welcome to The Banshee Labyrinth, Scotland’s Most Haunted pub!

This pub proves why Edinburgh really is a Jekyll & Hyde city! Half of the pub was once part of the infamous “underground Vaults” -once the haunt of criminals, thieves and the very unsavoury. It was in these former slums that many poor and innocent met a very grisly end! Ironically right next door, the front of the pub; was once home to one of the richest men in Edinburgh, Lord Nicol Edwards.

Wherever you choose to sit back, relax and enjoy your drink, remember to be very careful. Many have placed their drink down simply to watch it slide straight off the table and smash against a wall as if thrown by an unseen force!

One spirits many of the male staff fears is that of “The Banshee”. When refurbishing the pub a group of workmen believed they all heard a terrifying scream. A few hours later, one of the workmen received a phone call informing him that a family member had passed away.

The SEX PISTOLS EXPERIENCE will play on Thursday 18th November, at The Attic (lounge).
Supported by our good selves.

Tickets £7 will be on sale soon.

Their live show's have to be seen to be belived, many hours of hard rehearsing have been undergone to get the look & sound so spot-on, even Pistols guitarist 'Steve Jones' commented:-
"My God.! They Really are the Sex pistols!!"
When they were invited as special guests for interview & play live on his radio show 'Jonesy's Jukebox' in Los Angeles.

Appealing to young & old(ER) alike, even the most ardent of Pistols fan, reluctant to see their hero's being portrayed, can usually be seen, 2 or 3 songs in, pogoing and bouncing around at the front, re-living their youth & wishing they were 20yrs younger!!

So if you missed out on seeing the 'real deal', there is no alternative, accept no fakes, this is your chance to say " I swear I was there..!" Come along and witness what is now regarded as one of the world's leading tribute bands whilst you still can, before they burn-out as they surely will, perhaps after their next U.S.A tour!!??

It may not be the 'real deal', but it is without doubt the real 'double act', we all remember the songs, just one classic after another, Holidays in the Sun, Pretty Vacant, Bodies, Anarchy in the U.K, and of course the banned No1 single 'God Save The Queen'. All delivered as it should be, raw, loud & proud, powerful & dynamic, with the main focus being on having FUN...! Never trust a Hippy, the Swindle really does continue, "who killed Bambi..??" asked good friend & regular support act Ed' Tenpole Tudor "We did" -The Sex Pistols Experience. !

Available every date on the calendar year for worldwide tours, or one-off date's, festivals or studio or T.V work, best supplied with support act's such as 'Edward Tudor Pole (Tenpole Tudor'), or a top 'Clash' ,'Jam', or 'Blondie' tribute band? or maybe a suitable 76-79 punk cover band.

Borstal Breakout / I Don't Wanna / Angels with Dirty Faces / Hurry Up Harry / If the Kids Are United / Hersham Boys / Ulster

Sham 69 formed in 1976 and although they lacked the art school background of many British punk bands of the time, they brought in football chant back-up vocals and a sort of inarticulate political populism.

They released their first single, “Ulster”, on Step Forward Records in August 1977, and its success in the independent charts prompted Polydor to sign the band.

Their major label debut was “Borstal Breakout” in January 1978, followed by UK singles chart success with “Angels With Dirty Faces” (reaching number 19 in May 1978), “If The Kids Are United” (number 9 in July 1978), and “Hurry Up Harry” (number 10 in October 1978). The latter came from their second LP and first full studio album, That’s Life.

Sham 69 gained much media attention when “If The Kids Are United” was played during UK Prime Minister Tony Blair’s entrance at the 2005 Labour Party Conference. As a result of this, they were invited onto BBC TV’s current affairs programme, Newsnight to sing a version of the song. Altered lyrics were sung, including “Mr. Blair / We know you care / So bring them home / Don’t leave them there”, referring to the troops remaining in Iraq after the the 2003 invasion.

In 2006, Virgin Radio listeners voted overwhelmingly for Sham 69 to record a song to support England in the FIFA World Cup. The song was based on the Sham 69 hit, “Hurry Up Harry”, and instead of the lyric being, “We’re going down the pub”, it was changed to, “We’re going to win the cup!” The resulting single, “Hurry Up England” reached number 10 in the UK Top 40, becoming the band’s first such hit for over 26 years.
