Devitos, Arbroath. 13.2.2010
Finally, for a little bit of self-indulgence, meet punk tribute band Cash from Chaos. Hailing from West Lothian, Scotland, Cash from Chaos have toured as far and as wide as London and Las Vegas, but on Saturday the 13th of February, Cash from Chaos took their collection of Sex Pistols, Dead Kennedys, Damned, SLF, etc to Arbroath in Scotland. Cash from Chaos delivered track after track, doing their best to recreate the atmosphere and mood of the songs as originally recorded by 1970s punk legends, and received an energetic response from a crowd only too willing to partake in the band’s antics.
It may be done in good fun, but there remains something ruthlessly professional about this band. This isn’t about five people generally old enough to remember the heyday of punk playing sloppy covers of songs they couldn’t care less about.
Particularly handy if you live in Scotland, Cash from Chaos is a must-see if you’re willing to have fun. The next gig is in Bathgate at The Lounge on the 27th of March at 1930. Don’t miss it!
The term ‘tribute’ is thrown around loosely in today’s gigging circuit, but not with Cash from Chaos.

Firstly what a performance last night in Kirkcaldy, and secondly thanks for headlining after the other band pulled out.
I work with different bands every week and Cash From Chaos are the best I have seen in a very long time. I would not hesitate to recommend you to any venue or promoter who is looking for a good classic punk tribute band. You are the best that I have seen!!
All the best and keep at it!

Fantastic gig at the Citrus Club. We had planned to see Combat Rock with no idea who the support band were - first time we had seen you and we were blown away - so much so we left half way through the Combat Rock set as they were just not up to the energy you put into the gig - Cant wait to see you again at Bannermans - I would recommend anyone to go see you you were fab..!

I was well-impressed with the accuracy of the covers, esp The Clash ones, Joe Strummer being my all-time musical hero - but special mention to your drummers' version of Hong Kong Garden - pitch-perfect gutsy vocals while never missing a beat - that's class!
hopefully, share a bill with you guys again.
cheers,

Unsigned Artists of the month January 2009
Cash from Chaos is an unsigned punk rock tribute band conceived during April 2007. With HQ based in West Lothian, Scotland, world domination might be considered somewhat far off. But, with a touring schedule stretching all the way to September 2009 and beyond, much can be expected from a band whose recorded covers underlie the Cash from Chaos’s credentials as The Punk Rock Tribute band to witness live.
Essentially, the band’s manifesto is simple: it’s in the band’s name, and the homage to The Sex Pistols is tangible, if not tongue in cheek. The comic factor is fundamental to the band’s image with even the briefest of scans throughout a Cash from Chaos audience bringing to sight at least one ‘The Swindle Continues’ Cash from Chaos-logo adorned shirt. Songs featured on the main page include The Rezillos’ Destination Venus and an admirably recorded cover of Holiday in Cambodia, obviously first recorded by the Dead Kennedys.
So where is all this going? Was Cash from Chaos’s name intentioned to share the same acronym as chlorofluorocarbon? Does the canard that the band’s amplifiers have been banned in the United States by President Obama’s Green-wary ethics hold any credence? Will such bans have any significant bearing on the band’s gig in Las Vegas, Nevada on September 12th 2009? Regardless of such rumours, 2009 promises to be a big year for the band from West Lothian.
Recommended listening: Destination Venus cannot be missed, if not for its punk dynamism, then for the vocal talents of drummer Lizzie, an invaluable asset to the band in its delivery of a punk classic.
